Hotel in Sardinia - a short introduction to our area

Our hotel is in Valledoria, a town that offers all kinds of facilities to its visitors. Among the various tourist locations, La Ciaccia, a small village in the Valledoria municipal area, has managed to combine the daily life of a small community with everything needed to welcome tourists.

In actual fact, tourists are made more than welcome at La Ciaccia (people live here all year round) since the village offers everything that both holiday makers and residents can desire, all the regular facilities that are found in most small Italian towns.

There is a public shuttle bus service from the village to Valledoria (about 3 kilometres away) which during the summer months extends to reach the beaches of Valledoria, San Pietro a Mare, Maragnani, and La Ciaccia.

In the village itself there are 3 restaurant/pizzerias, a souvenir shop selling special Sardinian objects, a tobacconist who also sells newspapers and magazines, a supermarket and 4 bars, all of which are open all year round. There is even the little Church of Santa Rita where Mass is celebrated every Sunday.

In the summer, more facilities and seasonal shops open, including a butcher?s, a pastry and cake shop, a baker?s and an ice cream parlour.

So guests at our hotel can enjoy and take part in the daily life of the village while at the same time taking advantage of prices that remain the same, every day, all year round..

The great advantage here is the fact that we are by the sea, literally. The public beach is just a few hundred metres away. The sandy shoreline is 15 kms long and offers immense stretches of beautiful white sand available to everyone. Leaving our hotel, you will find typical Mediterranean vegetation behind you, while in front the crystalline sea protected by the Isola dell?Asinara, the Castelsardo promontory to the west, and Isola Rossa to the east.

This is still an unspoilt little corner, in contact with Nature and its colours, where you can immerse yourself without being disturbed.

The whole area, which is quiet and has little traffic, has only one road leading to it, and so those who come to our village do so because they really want to. It is well suited to families with children, to people who prefer to relax far away from the frenetic stress of modern life, to those who value life in the open air, and all those who are looking to stay in contact with Nature.

So here are the ingredients for a genuine low-cost holiday, not artificial (with seasonal openings and closures), but in contact with the people who live here, with everything that represents daily life in Sardinia.

The staff here at the hotel will be more than happy to prepare a calendar each week of the events and local festivities that are organized all year round both in Valledoria and the nearby towns and villages. They will be happy to provide you with all the information necessary to book trips either by river boat or canoe in the River Coghinas, a dinner in a country restaurant, an excursion to the islands of the la Maddalena Archipelago, an excursion to the Isola dell?Asinara, a sailing, Kite or windsurf course. They are also more than happy to provide you with whatever else you may need in terms of maps, information and anything else either for trekking and cycling, and will also give you access to the Internet Corner.
