Kayak and canoe ? hiring and descents on the River Coghinas (Valledoria/Sardegna)

The Hotel Tartaruga Bianca works all year round together with Vittoria Marras?s New Kayak Sardinia. She is a canoeing enthusiast and the New Kayak Sardinia organizes river descents and canoe and pedal? hire (River Coghinas). This service is available to everyone, individuals, groups, Scout groups, beginners and experts, young and old.

Fifty single seater kayaks and 15 doubles are available offering space for up to 80 people. The company is based at the mouth of the River Coghinas (the S.I.C. area = at Valledoria/north Sardinia).

We offer the opportunity to organize river descents with three different routes:

•  Route 1: Departure from the thermal baths at Casteldoria ? arrival at the mouth of the river (length about 5-6 hours)
•  Route 2: Departure from Baduboi bridge ? arrival at the mouth of the river (length about 2-3 hours)
•  Route 3: Departure from the old bridge ? to the dam ? return to the old bridge (length about 4-5 hours)

The river descents can be enjoyed every day all year(with departures every hour, ideally with prior booking).

Once the participants have arrived at the New Kayak base, they are then accompanied to the start of their chosen route, provided with the necessary equipment, (life jackets, waterproof bag, floating glasses case for normal glasses) and instructions on how to paddle before departure.

The New Kayak Sardinia organization has its base in an enviable natural setting on the mouth of the River which means that it is possible to watch and admire a large number of different birds all along the length of the river.

What sets this river apart from others is the peace and quiet that reflects a completely unspoilt natural environment: the sound of the water, the chirping and twittering of the birds as they follow you along the river, fish jumping, cows and calves to be photographed on the little beaches where you can stop for a pic-nic..

And so the excursion winds happily to an end, with everyone content at having spent a day in peaceful contact with Nature.
